Founder/Lead Organizer
MJ Vaughn loves finding ways to bring the community together, especially through collaborative efforts that empower women and youth. This led her to start Sac Girls Closet. As a senior CIVITAS student at Rio Americano High School and the District 1 representative for the Sacramento County Youth Commission, MJ has witnessed the power of support and representation. Her goal is for Sac Girls Closet to help under-resourced high school girls feel confident, prepared and supported for the new school year. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, baking, and spending time with her friends and her dog, Bones Luigi.

Community Outreach Director
Reid Lerseth is a senior at Rio Americano in the CIVITAS program. He’s passionate about public service and mobilizing the youth in Sacramento. He’s recently completed a summer internship working for a city council member, which made him aware of a lot of issues within our community and inspired him to join Sac Girls Closet. Reid enjoys playing video games with friends, hanging out with his cat, and playing the guitar.

Social Media Director and Lead Sorter
Violet Lapitan is passionate about the power of self-expression. She joined Sac Girls Closet to help other girls achieve this by helping them find their own style. She’s a senior at Visions and volunteers for Make-a-Wish in her free time. She’s excited about bringing her experience in community service to Sac Girls Closet and sharing her passion with others. Violet enjoys practicing her art, playing her instruments, and spending time with her family. Violet is also Silver in Valorant.

Registration and Sorter
Kaiya Kendrick loves to bring her joy to the community through her creativity. She is a senior at Rio Americano and is the leader of several clubs. Kaiya has experience in equity and environmental activism and completed a 3-month program as Environmental Activist Trainee. She volunteers her time at the local cat shelter and worked as summer camp counselor. She enjoys crafting and sketching in her spare time along with reading and listening to music.
